#ThrowbackThursday in honor of tomorrow’s Art for All Gala

Urban Gateways’ 2014 Art for All Gala is TOMORROW, Friday March 21 at the Art Institute! Hopefully you’ve heard all about it (if not, read more HERE), so we’ll keep the intro snappy and get right to the fun part – some #ThrowbackThursday photos to honor past Galas and to get you (all the more) pumped for tomorrow.

Let’s start with April 1, 2011. Three years ago we celebrated Urban Gateways’ 50th Anniversary at Venue One in Chicago’s West Loop. 400 guests celebrated the occasion, and the event featured 50 honorees that made significant contributions to Urban Gateways’ 50-year history.

March 30, 2012: A return to the glamorous Venue One. It was the first year that our Gala was dubbed “Art for All”, and the name stuck! Mayor Rahm Emanuel was the event’s Honorary Chair, and performing groups included jazz trio The Second Hand Three, Elements Contemporary Ballet, Louder than a Bomb poets from Young Chicago Authors, and nationally-renowned dance crew the FootworKINGz.

March 8, 2013: The Art for All Gala moved a few blocks over to the brand-new City Winery Chicago, where guests got a preview of the venue’s incredible wine selection (this place is the only fully functional winery in the city limits) and carefully crafted menu.

And as always, we had awesome entertainment by Chicago Improv Productions, 20th Century Players featuring Mike Dangeroux and Dora Washington (people really got their dancing shoes out for this – see below), and percussion students from the Urban Gateways program at EPIC Academy in South Chicago.

Tomorrow, we’ll be welcoming our supporters to the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago for what we’re sure will be most inspiring Art for All Gala yet.

Check out the entertainment lineup HERE, the live auction prizes HERE, and full event details HERE.

We’ll close out with a sneak peek at our preparations…

Thanks to our sponsors – we couldn’t do it without you.

SEE YOU TOMORROW!
