A Chicago native, Kylah Frye joined Urban Gateways in the spring of 2022. She began her journey in arts education and outreach as an apprentice artist over 20 years ago and continued on to become a teaching artist.
She worked as both a performer and teaching artist in the field for 10 years before attending Northern Illinois University for her BFA in Acting, after which she expanded her experience and role in arts education. She went from performance and teaching, to directing shows for young audiences, conducting workshops, training new teaching artists, and eventually managing arts education programming. She is thrilled to continue her journey with Urban Gateways, and her personal mission of helping to empower youth via access to arts education and outreach.
