3pm show
Come to Writers Theatre in Glencoe (just off I-94 and the Metra UP-N line) on Saturday, May 19 at 1pm for pizza, refreshments, and a 3pm performance of surreal masterpiece “Buried Child”, the play that “elevated [Sam] Shepard from cult figure to cultural icon” (The Stage). Learn all about the TAP program, meet WT Youth Council members and artists, and get an exclusive tour of the new Theatre Center!
About “Buried Child”: On a cross-country trip from New York to the west coast, Vince and his girlfriend Shelly decide to make a stop at his grandparents’ rural Illinois home. But when they arrive, neither his grandparents nor his father and uncle seem to recognize or remember him. As Vince searches for answers, truths begin to emerge that reveal a deep corrosion of this fragmented family living in an America that may have left them behind.
This event is companion ticket eligible; teens who sign up for the TAP program can buy an additional $5 ticket for a non-teen companion (sibling, parent, etc).
