You won’t get lost on this musical tour through Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean – the performer brings flags, as well as percussion instruments for students to try. Folk guitarist and singer Nelson Sosa performs the rhythms and songs of Latin America and discusses how geography, culture, and customs influence the music of each region. Cumbia, Merengue and Cha Cha Cha are just some of the rhythms performed by Sosa. He teaches that Spanish is spoken through most of the Americas, he also explains all the many influences in our music and how location and culture have an important role in the music of any region. This program can be connected with many celebrations such as: Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Flag Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and more.
