Dinner for 12 at a Frank Lloyd Wright Home

Dinner for 12 Poolside or Fireside at the Rollin Furbeck House

You and 11 of your lucky friends will dine in style at the historic Rollin Furbeck House in beautiful Oak Park. Built in 1897 and designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, this exquisite example of Prairie Style architecture has all its original charm, and also includes an updated chef’s kitchen and an amazing deck and pool. A custom seasonal five course dinner will be provided by Limelight Catering (caterer of tonight’s delicious meal) including soup, appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. You will also enjoy expert wine pairings donated by The House of Glunz. Your hosts, Tom and Deb Abrahamson, are happy to provide a tour of their remarkable home, if desired. You and your guests may dine al fresco on the deck or in the beautifully appointed dining room.

Nestled in the North Hill woods between an expansive beach on Lake Michigan and the Eldean Shipyard in Lake Macatawa, this cottage provides a warm welcome for families and friends. Relax with a book on the screen porch; entertain guests on the deck surrounding the cottage; or walk a block to the beach on Lake Michigan to soak in the sun, swim, or kayak through the channel from one lake to the other. Five miles from Holland, Michigan, 10 miles from Saugatuck, and 25 miles from Grand Rapids (home of the world-renowned Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park); a three-hour drive from Chicago.

“Sound Decision”

Take home a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork created the evening of the Gala by Urban Gateways teaching artist James Jankowiak, inspired by the live music of Urban Gateways teaching artists Michael Riendeau and Aaron Shapiro.

Chicago native James Jankowiak’s current paintings and installation focus on the role of color and familiar form as a means of communication in our day-to-day environment. His emotive abstract paintings explore the intersections between color, visual rhythm, spirituality, and music.

As a teaching artist, Jankowiak has utilized contemporary painting practice as a vehicle for social engagement with Chicago Public Schools students and teachers across the city for over two decades. In 2001, Urban Gateways was the first arts organization to give Jankowiak a chance to teach, and that relationship continues to the present day.
